Lake Georgetown Hike!

Lake Georgetown - San Gabriel River Trail - Goodwater LoopApproximately an 11 miles hike, starting at the Cedar Breaks Trailhead, winding around the southwest side of the lake to Tejas Park Trailhead.

All scouts need to be at the WB Annex at 7am, where car pool coordination will take place. Scouts and Leaders will leave the Annex @ 7:30am and arrive at the park. Once scouts are ready, the hike will begin around the 8-8:30am timeframe. The Troop will stop for snacks twice (once before lunch and after lunch), with a lunch stop somewhere near the middle of the hiking trail.


  • Need good shoes or hiking boots with heavy ankle support. All shoes being worn must be closed toe, and tied. No crocs or unlaced sneakers.

  • Scout Shirt (to be worn while hiking)

  • Day Packs to carry water, lunch, and snacks. A day pack should contain:

    • 4-6 L of water

    • 2 snacks

    • Lunch

      • Extra socks

      • Extra shirt

      • Pocket Knife (only if you have your totem-chit)

      • Band-aids or small first-aid kit.
