Troop Trip to Inner Space Caverns

Post date: Aug 11, 2013 2:34:38 PM

The troop had a lock-in at the Troop Annex with video games, board games and card games. Scout and leaders all had a lot of fun. The scouts of course attempted to out last the leaders, but were forced to dream land around 2am. The next morning, the troop gathered together and made a trek to Inner Space Caverns in Georgetown, Texas. We went on a guided tour of the caverns - close to 70 feet under the surface. We explored the many different limestone caverns, rooms and corridors of the stalactites, stalagmites, columns, ribbons, and other geological formations made by mother nature over hundreds of thousand years. We saw examples of nature’s perfect artwork such as “The Flowing Stone of Time”, the mysterious “Lake of the Moon” and the intricate “Soda Straw Balcony”. We found cave bacon (ribbon) and were given "cave kisses" (drops of water from the ceiling).
